Elk Horn Public Library - 2027 Washington Street
 The Elk Horn Library was founded over 75 years ago and continues to grow to serve the residents of Elk Horn as well as surrounding areas by providing books, e-books, DVD's, computer access and programming for all ages.  A 900 square- foot programming room connecting the existing children's area with it's own door including a kitchen. a large open space for programming/ public meeting space, and a handicap accessible restroom was completed in December 2018. There is also a large space for storage located underneath the addition. Last year, the library was one of seven libraries in Iowa to be named as an America's Star Library from the Library Journal. Libraries were rated based on selected per capita output measures- library visits, circulation, circulation of electronic materials, program attendance and pubic internet computer use.

Services Offered
Books, DVDs, recreational equipment, e-books, audio books, cakepans, puzzles and games available for checkout
Free WiFi and 2 public computers available for use
Printing/ Copying: Black and white $0.10 per page
Faxing Services: $1.00 for the first page and $0.25 for each additional page
VHS to DVD conversion: $3.00/2 hour length DVD
Interlibrary Loan: Card holders can borrow materials from other Iowa libraries
Website with online resources such as language learning material and research resources.
